Graffham Christmas Lunch walk 11th December 2019

Isabel is leading this walk on Wednesday which is flat and about three and a half miles, going through Duncton and Lavington Commons, some woodlands and open land, with good views if the weather improves! The first bit is muddy, so good boots and walking poles would be a great help. There are tree felling works planned on the road to Petworth and also on the Selham road that day and delays are expected, so it would be best to drive to the White Horse at Graffham (what3words:- heartburn.lakes.barmaid), where we are having lunch, and drive onto the car park from there. The instructions are as follows ------ Come out of the pub and turn right. At the T junction, turn left. Pass the Forresters Pub and then the village shop on your right. Carry straight on and at the crossroad turn right. The car park is on the left, but is a bit hidden so is easily missed. There is a public footpath opposite the entrance. The grid reference for the car park is 949:187. what3 words:- remodels.gobbling.shoebox. If all goes to plan we should be back at the White Horse at 12.30 for lunch at 1.00pm.

Petworth Park Day walk 4th December 2019

Marian, Linda, Maddie and June are leading a walk from the Silvia Beaufoy Centre in Petworth. The walk will be going into Petworth Park where coffee can be purchased and then out towards Upperton and on to Tillington. Lunch is booked in The Horse Guards. Weather permitting the walk in the afternoon will be back through Petworth Park.   Lunch places are in scarce supply in The Horse Guards and a deposit has already been paid.         Even if the weather is appalling the lunch will still go ahead, so it is essential that you let Marian know in good time if you would like a place at the table even if you do not intend to walk.
