Milland Welcome to 2019 Walk on 2nd January 2019

This is really a long walk day but as folk may still be recovering, we thought a morning stroll around Milland may be a good way of starting off the New Year. So we will start from the Rising Sun in Milland and take a 4.1/2 mile stroll before having lunch in The Rising Sun to round off the walking day. Some parts in this valley do suffer from the rain so good boots will probably be needed.

Graffham Morning walk 12th December

Isabel, Mary and Barbara have arranged this special Christmas Walk and Lunch at The White Horse in Graffham GU28 0NT  . Hopefully you have already ordered your lunch and this is the day when Marian will magically produce amazing raffle prizes. Late purchase of raffle tickets is possible but late purchase of lunch may well leave you hungry. The walk is fairly level, a few stiles and is about 4 miles, so we should have plenty of time to get to The White Horse for the 1.00pm lunch.

Easebourne Day Walk 5th December 2018

Linda, Marian, Maddie and June are walking from the Cowdray shop car park (please park inconspicuously at the back!) SU8952 2238. The walk is about 5 miles in the morning, a gradual up hill to begin with, then all down hill to The White Horse in Easebourne. Depending on the weather there will be a short walk in the afternoon.       Should be fine for Morning Walkers who missed out last Wednesday. Please let Marian know if you are lunching at the White Horse so a booking can be made for you.

East Meon Morning Walk 28th November 2018

PLEASE NOTE THIS WALK HAS BEEN CANCELLED AS THE FORECAST IS PRETTY DIRE. HOWEVER ANYONE WHO IS HUNGRY WILL BE WELCOME AT THE YE OLDE GEORGE, EAST MEON AT 1.00PM.
Original instructions were as follows:-   Trevor and John’s walk on Wednesday 28th, is in and around East Meon.  Starting at East Meon car park, 50º59’43.30”N-1º02’11.20”W, SU67716 22215. The walk is easy going over gently undulating open farmland, woods and some roads, no stiles, a few gates, ground fairly dry on the pre-walk.  One field may have cattle in so sensible caution may be needed (Ramblers advice is here:- Advice on cattle but the best way of avoiding a problem is to not walk with a dog!) Best ignore the recent video on Facebook which was very misleading!  Lunch at “YE OLDE GEORGE INN” East Meon, GU32 1NH,  50º59’41.60”N -1º01’56.30”W, SU68007 22166.   Trevor will be at Midhurst car park until 9-45AM

Steep Day Walk 21st November 2018

The walk starts in Petersfield and lunch is in The Harrow. About 6 stiles and a few short hills but nothing too difficult - around 6 miles. The Harrow is unlike nearly any other pub and needs to be experienced. They have a limited menu but it is very unlikely anyone would leave the Harrow feeling hungry.  To help secure a table we need to arrive early, so can we meet please in Beckham Lane at 9.45am . To get there, take the Sheet road from the level crossing in Petersfield, take the first exit from the roundabout (signposted London, Portsmouth, Winchester and Alton) but after about 50 yards, turn right into Beckham Lane and park after another 50 yards, GU32 3BU .  Hope the early start will not be too inconvenient, cars will leave Midhurst around 9.15am.
