Quiz Photo No. 6

This photo is from back in 2005 - one easy question, who is the young lady? More difficult - what is the name of the church?                                                         Clue - if you've been walking in north Somerset it might help.                                                                                                                                                                                                    This next photo is a bit of a puzzle. It was taken on Hayling Island but there is something wrong with it - is the plant a yucca or a palm - either way, it is not native to Hayling Island. Anyone know the species please? The first photo in the last quiz was taken in the grounds of Chichester Cathedral in 2012, a few familiar faces hiding amongst the statues. These statues were part of an exhibition by local sculptor Philip Jackson who lives in Cocking. He became a Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex in 2008.      The monkey and the waterfall photo was taken in Mill Lane, Steep.  What3words:- crows.transmit.stated   or SU7425 2592.                     Many thanks to all the people who have sent photos in. There are still some great photos yet to be published but don't let that stop anyone sending more in please.                                                    Finally a few smiles:-                                                                                                                          Half of us are going to come out of this quarantine as amazing cooks. The other half will come out with a drinking problem. (Perhaps a weight problem?).                     I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator.                    Still haven't decided where to go for Easter ----- The Living Room or The Bedroom.              Homeschooling is going well. 2 students suspended for fighting and 1 teacher fired for drinking on the job.                         I don't think anyone expected that when we changed the clocks we'd go from Standard Time to the Twilight Zone.                                     This morning I saw a neighbour talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into my house, told my dog..... we laughed a lot.                    My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately that when I pee it cleans the toilet.                   I'm so excited --- it's time to take out the garbage. What should I wear?              Classified Ad: Single man with toilet paper seeks woman with hand sanitizer for good clean fun.                 Day 6 of Homeschooling: My child just said "I hope I don't have the same teacher next year".... I'm offended.

Happy Easter to everyone

Rabbits may have a good living, nibbling grass all day, but spare them a thought at Easter!       Some good things have come out of this pandemic - a 14 year old in USA wanted to keep in touch with her choir group and asked her Dad to help - here's the result  The Prayer duet

Photo Quiz No. 5

For Easter weekend with two extra days off work we have two photos to puzzle over.      One is easy and the other more difficult. Where and when did this group of walkers play hide and seek amongst the statues?                                                                                                                                                                 Secondly, a bit more difficult, where is this waterfall?                                                                                                                                                                             The answer to the bridge photo was Stedham Bridge, not too far away.  A Grade II listed building, built in the 17th Century. Not one of the local bridges built by the monks of Durford Abbey - they had been closed down by Henry VIII a century earlier.

The Ramblers advice link

The Ramblers Association  have published advice which you may find helpful:- Ramblers Advice    It's very good on advice about not touching gates or stiles but only suggests you wash your hands when you get home. Not a lot of good if you have already touched anything else since, particularly your face. Please use hand gel IMMEDIATELY if you contact ANYTHING that may have been recently touched by someone outside your immediate household, should soap and water not be available.

Quiz Photo No. 4

The last picture puzzle was much too easy so here's something a little more difficult.  This bridge looks so familiar but just not that easy to say where it is. The style looks very familiar for our area. Perhaps it is one of the three bridges built by the monks of nearby Durford Abbey in the 16th Century. The answer to the last quiz photo - who was that girl? Dell boy's girlfriend was of course June. Where had he taken her?  The clues were on the side of the van - it was either New York, Paris or Porlock. Surprisingly enough it was actually Porlock Weir, taken on a walking holiday in Exmoor, 2005.
