Corvid home working affects us all.

A Policeman on patrol in West Sussex came across God walking along the A272 between Midhurst and Petersfield.

"What are you doing here", said the Policeman. "I'm working from home", said God.

Quiz Photo No. 13

This house should be familiar to many Midhurst walkers, but maybe not in these colours - any idea where it is?

To ask where are these rainbows would be too hard, so who is it wearing the red coat?

The picture of the lamp was surprisingly easy for some people - it is in fact  a lamp outside the cloisters at Chichester Cathedral, near the entrance to the choir school.

Stonehenge was not the right answer to the second photo. They were spotted on a walk from West Stoke in October 2018. The stones are the work of Neil Lawson Baker, a retired surgeon, now an artist, sculptor, photographer and author of children's books who lives nearby.

Dog for sale

A Midhurst man sees a sign outside a Easebourne farmhouse: 'Talking Dog For Sale'....He rings the bell, the owner appears and tells him the dog can be viewed in the back garden. The man sees a very nice looking Black Labrador Retriever sitting there. "Do you really talk?" he asks the dog. "Yes!" the Labrador replies. After recovering from the shock of hearing the dog talk, he man asks, "So, tell me your story!" The Labrador looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I joined  the police. "In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world drug lords, because no one imagined that a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years, But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at Gatwick airport to do some undercover security work, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded several medals. I got married, had a few puppies, and now I've just retired!" The man is amazed. He goes back into the house and asks the man how much he wants for the dog. "Ten quid!" The owner says. "£10? But this dog is absolutely amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?" "Because he's a lying so and so. He's never been out of the garden!"

Such cute chicks.

Wildlife

These super photos were recently taken in the Midhurst area.

Black swans are native to Australia but were brought over to the UK in the 1800's. Not uncommon now but if you'd like your own, there is a pair for sale in Hull for £350.

Ducks???????????

Actually no, they're Eqyptian Geese. South Pond may not be as warm as the Nile Valley, but the grass is greener! The species has been here since the 1700's. and they usually nest in trees.

Keep safe, wear a mask

.

Here are some bandits seen trying to enter the NatWest Bank (and failing!) last week. However perhaps it is a good idea to wear a mask when robbing a bank or shopping, just to help prevent cross-infection!
