West Itchenor walk on 16th September 2026

Isabel sold us a five and three quarter mile walk on the basis it would be easy and flat, luckily, we all believed her and she was right.  We left The Ship Inn at West Itchenor walking south through the village picking up the cycle path between the fields onto Sheepwash Lane, which did not live up to its name.  Skirting around the north of West Wittering we turned north onto Ella Nore Lane to pick up the New Lipchis Way on the coast of the Chichester Channel with views across the Channel, Thorney Island and even Hayling Island in the clear sunshine.  We stopped at a perfect spot with seating for all to have a well earned coffee break before heading back to the Ship Inn, where we were treated to a tasty lunch and refreshments.
